ASTI Schoolwide Announcements 1.25.17

Do you regret not joining a club last semester? Well, here's your second chance! ASB will host another club day on Friday, January 27, so come out to the quad and check out all the cool clubs ASTI has to offer!

Yearbooks are now $55! Grab one this Friday lunch in front of Ms. Pengelly's room.

Seniors: Please send in one baby picture of you at by January 29th. It will be featured in our senior baby picture pages!

Freshmen: Yearbook photographers will be taking your superlative pictures. Please wait in the quad at the beginning of lunch on Thursday, January 26th.

Yearbook wants your Student Life and Sports photos. Send them to now!

Save the date for ASTI’s Spring Dance, which will take place on Friday, February 10th from 6:00-8:00pm on the second floor of the COA F-Building.

11th graders:  An advisor from Students Rising Above (SRA) will be visiting ASTI next Friday, February 3rd during 2nd period in the computer lab to talk about the SRA program.  SRA applications are open and due March 4th.  The qualifications are:  Juniors graduating in the Class of 2018, 3.0 minimum GPA (we can make exceptions for exceptional students with 2.8/2.9 GPAs),4-year college bound, Come from low-income family, and have overcome obstacles.  Students selected to participate in SRA are paired with an advisor and a mentor, receive personalized assistance applying to college, financial aid, and scholarships, and receive support all throughout college with internships, career, and/or graduate school.  Please plan to attend the meeting if you may qualify for SRA.

10th graders:  This Friday, January 27th, all sophomores will report to the computer lab instead of their PE class to receive their PSAT score reports and sign up for free online SAT prep through Khan Academy.  If you do not have a PE period and are in the 10th grade, please attend the presentation during your afternoon open period.  This meeting is mandatory for all sophomores.

11th graders:  There is a mandatory 11th grade meeting in the computer lab this Friday, January 27th during 2nd period.  During this meeting, you will receive your PSAT score report, PSAT test booklets, and sign up for free test prep through Khan Academy.  We will also briefly discuss SAT/ACT and SAT Subject Test timelines this year.  You will be excused from math seminar to attend this meeting.  If you have a college class during this time, see Ms. Jurkovich after 2nd period on Friday to receive your score report.

Students no longer need to print last semester’s college grades to turn into Ms. Jurkovich.  She now receives grade printouts directly from the college.  Students do, however, need to make sure they turn in updated college schedules to Ms. Jurkovich if their schedules change.

The last day to add/drop Peralta classes is February 5th.  The last day to obtain a signature from Ms. Jurkovich on a concurrent enrollment form will be Friday, February 3rd.

Seniors:  Once you have submitted your college applications, make sure you check your email daily and create accounts with each university you have applied to.  Check your to-do lists every other day to find out if a college is requesting more information from you.  You must pay attention to any deadlines of requested information; failure to meet deadlines could result in your applications being cancelled.
