Hello, Halo, Hola ASTI, and Good Evening! Why the different languages to say "Hi" you may ask?? Well, if you haven't heard, PTSA is hosting ASTI's first ever Multicultural Night this Thursday from 6-8pm in the F Building. It's a night where we can all come together and share our cultures with one another. There will be performances, cultural trivia, a photo booth and more to enjoy for you and your families. Contribute to the theme of the night by please bringing food for our potluck AND coming dressed in clothing from your culture. There will be a contest and prizes for best dressed along with best food!

Our annual spring dance will be next Friday on February 10th from 6 to 8 PM at the F Building. The theme is City of Lights and the dress attire is Semi-Formal. Look classy in your dresses and button ups. Beautiful dance tickets will also come with your purchase so look out for the table in front of Mr. Rod's room. So buy your tickets during lunch for $3 only! It will be $5 at the door, so catch the deal now! Note: If you are requesting a guest pass, please turn it in by next Tuesday, February 7th at 3 PM to Ms. Jurkovich.

Hey Freshmen! To reward you for donating the most food to the canned food drive, you are all getting hot chocolate and cookies this Friday at lunch in Higashi's room!

Seniors: If any of you received a D or F grade in a college or ASTI class last semester, you should contact your colleges to notify them of the grades, and of any changes in your class schedule this semester.  A reminder that D/F grades in the senior year can lead to your admission being cancelled.  Don’t let senioritis sink in this semester!

Seniors:  Your FAFSA or Dream Act Application are due by March 2nd, 2017.  See Ms. Jurkovich if you have any questions.  Visit www.fafsa.gov to fill out your 2017-2018 FAFSA.  Check CSS Profile requirements for your private colleges.

Seniors:  The deadline to petition for your AS/AA degree with a COA counselor is Friday, March 17th.  You must see a COA counselor to petition for your degree.  It is strongly recommended that you meet with a COA counselor to petition for your degree ASAP.  As the deadline approaches, it becomes more difficult to schedule an appointment.

Roses are red, violets are blue. Juniors are selling Valentine grams, just for you. Sold during lunch until February 14. Grab one for only $3 or two for $5! If preferred, messages will also be included.

Yearbooks are $55! Grab one on Friday before they're gone!

Yearbook wants your Student Life and Sports photos. Send them to astiyearbook@gmail.com now!

11th graders:  An advisor from Students Rising Above (SRA) will be visiting ASTI this Friday, February 3rd during 2nd period in the computer lab to talk about the SRA program.  SRA applications are open and due March 4th.  The qualifications are:  Juniors graduating in the Class of 2018, 3.0 minimum GPA (we can make exceptions for exceptional students with 2.8/2.9 GPAs),4-year college bound, Come from low-income family, and have overcome obstacles.  Students selected to participate in SRA are paired with an advisor and a mentor, receive personalized assistance applying to college, financial aid, and scholarships, and receive support all throughout college with internships, career, and/or graduate school.  Please plan to attend the meeting if you may qualify for SRA.

The last day to add/drop Peralta classes is February 5th.  The last day to obtain a signature from Ms. Jurkovich on a concurrent enrollment form will be Friday, February 3rd.

Students no longer need to print last semester’s college grades to turn into Ms. Jurkovich.  She now receives grade printouts directly from the college.  Students do, however, need to make sure they turn in updated college schedules to Ms. Jurkovich if their schedules change.
